How could the Convention create two opposing interest groups?
September 8th, 2011This is one of my questions on a worksheet I got about the Constitutional Convention.
There is another question I would like to ask: how should power be distributed between the state and federal governments?
The Convention really created two sets of dividing lines. The first was the large states against the small states. You can read and figure out how that ended. the second was between those wanting a strong central government and those wanting more power to reside in the states. The nationalists won that one with a large degree of power still residing in the state governments.
