What’s the Southern Baptist Convention all about?

If you belong to or have gone to an SBC-affiliated church, what are the services like? What do they believe in? I’m thinking of going to one but I don’t know what to expect. Are they liberals or conservatives, are they anything like the Fundamentalists? Are they open-minded or are they the type of organization that likes to silence their women like the Fundamentalists Baptists? I have no idea about them, so any info would be MUCH appreciated!

Well the independent baptists (fundamentalists) would call the southern baptist heathens. But the heathens call them Christians. The ones i have been to are very focused on getting the gospel out to the entire world. Along the way they feed the poor and care for the sick and the orphaned. Here in Florida they have a very good disaster response network that is usually one of the first on scene providing food and medicine. And usually one of the last to leave an area after they have helped rebuild the houses. Each church has its own personality which is produced by the people who attend. Best i can tell you is go take a look and see if you like it. :)

    Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! :D And the Trinity is true!

    The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to hell, is by believing in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what!

    Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in JESUS for His free gift of salvation! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

    Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die! :D
