Why should my tax dollars be used to fund Israels’ genocide against the palestinians?

Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states that no protected person may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed, hence collective punishment and all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.

We should not fund Israel in any way, last year we gave them $6 billion and $3 billion was direct military aid.

The US should stop military aid to all countries, giving only humanitarian aid.

Spend U.S. Taxpayers money to help get the U.S. on it feet, again!

Israel Killed 46 in a U.N. School and 3 in another UN school, they tried to justify it by saying Hamas was firing rockets from the school and named two Palestinians they say were killed in the School.
The UN confirms there were no rockets fired from the school and how did Israel come up with their story even naming the dead militants, When they have not been at the school before or after the attacks.

    I consider it part of the war on terrorism. I’m sure you know that Hamas is a filthy terrorist organization. I sure don’t want them here beheading me because I’m an freedom loving infidel! Those Hamas guys are sick nuts! So, I’m more than happy to help Israel, a country that respects freedom, do the work of ridding the world of these monsters.

    Israel actually waits until attacked over and over and over by Hamas before acting. I don’t know if I would.

    Genocide?

    Hamas, the palestinian elected officials in Gaza and West Bank, fired rockets from Gaza into Israel. In civilian areas.

    Israel asked Hamas to stop and honor the previous ceasefire but Hamas continued to lob rockets into Israel.

    Israel decided to strike back with Guide missiles at Hamas targets.

    Genocide? You must be nuts. Especially if you are talking about the 40 Suicides the other day. Hamas has people who are willing to take their life just so they can make a political statement on the news. And not to mention the photoshopped pictures you see on the internet and the human shields.

    We may need to review our financial support of Israel, but at least use terms correctly, for goodness’ sake. Killing 600 out of a population of millions of Palestinians every year or two (and most of those 600 were Hamas members & fighters) is a pretty slow way to wipe out an entire population, no?

    1. It isn’t genocide on two levels. For one, genocide is when you actively target to completely eliminate an entire ethnic group. Two, Palestinians aren’t an ethnic group. Arab is an ethnic group. Palestinian is a name given to the Arabs who live in Gaza and the West Bank. If what israel is doing is considered genocide, then I guess every single war in history has just been one giant genocide. I guess when a man shoots another man, it’s genocide. By your logic, the Palestinians are committing genocide on the Jews for attacking Israel.

If you really cared about the lives of others, you wouldn’t be screaming about a few hundred dead Palestinians (most of them were Hamas militants), you’d also be screaming about the 400,000 that have been massacred in Darfur and are still being killed.     Do you even know who the Arab nations support? None of the Arab nations support Hamas, none of them recognize it as the legitimate government of Gaza. Only Iran supports Hamas, and Iranians aren’t Arabs. Iran is also an Islamic republic, which just by coincidence, Hamas is an Islamic militant organization.

    Israel possesses nuclear weapons and hasn’t used them, ever. If Hamas possessed a nuclear weapon, do you think they’d use it? These are the same people who are willing to blow themselves up in the name of Allah, so I think setting off a nuke would be a step down.

    Please re-read the definition of ‘protected person’ and realize that people who take part in an offense and don’t distinguish themselves as combatants are not protected by the the Geneva conventions.
    Also, in every war there are civilian casualties. If unintended, this is not considered as "punishment", only an unfortunate outcome of the war. Furthermore, combatants who mixed themselves with non-combatants are exposing non-combatants to the risk of being hit.

    Your premise is seriously flawed. Calling what is occurring in Gaza "genocide" serves no purpose but to redefine what that word means. Has it ever occurred to you, that if Israel wanted to simply wipe out all the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank they have the means to do it? If that is their wish, they are sure taking their time about it.

    Now think about this. If the Palestinians in Gaza and in the West Bank had the means to wipe out all the Jews in Israel, how long would it be until they did it?

    Why do you cite an Article of the Geneva Convention out of context without also citing what it says about insurgents who wear no uniforms and hide among civilians? Since Israel and the Palestinians are not signatories to the Geneva Convention, does that mean you get to pick and choose which Articles apply and which do not?

    Why do you believe Palestinian lives are more precious than Israeli lives? Hamas can fire over 7,000 missiles into Israel for years and we hear not a peep out of anyone but as soon as Israel reacts like any country would in the same situation, everyone is filled with outrage.

    I wonder what would happen if some terrorist group took control of Mexican border towns and started firing missiles into Texas? What should our response be? Should we send Sociologists down there with copies of the Geneva Convention?

    Socialist, you should not try to quote from the Geneva Convention when you clearly do not understand what it means or to whom it applies. You also seem like a hysteric when you say things like "genocide against the Palestinians". Learn something about the situation from both sides not just the socialist, anti-Israel sides and you will show yourself as an intellectual.
