Does anyone here remember the 1988 G7 summit held in the Metro Convention Centre/Hart House?

That summit was hosted by PM Brian Mulroney. I came to Canada 1991 so I don’t remember anything of that summit, but were the protests back then as bad? Why wasn’t as bad back then as it was now?

I wasn’t even born then, but I heard stories that it wasn’t as bad as this. There were protests, but none involved burning police cars and looting countless stores.
