Detained at the MTCC Prior To G20 Summit – Metro Toronto Convention Centre South Building
July 7th, 2010 | by admin |
Security for the Metro Toronto Convention Centre detain Shaun and Dave as they shoot footage prior to the G20 Summit.
This video demonstrates that by standing firm, nobody can give themselves the right to view or delete your film. Trespassers must leave private property upon first notice, and they may only be arrested if they refuse to do so.
These security guards initially said we were being detained and were to accompany them to the security office. We politely declined, but kept filming to see if they would insist on deleting our footage. Eventually another security guard arrives, advises the office to film us on security camera, and claims we were never being detained in the first place.

@KevinNCamilla Yes …
I work in the enforcement field and yes although there are several ways to bend things around..in court lawyers would get things tossed. These guards are so pathetic LOL!
@KevinNCamilla Yes I know, but they can still deny them the video period..and i’m sure any good lawyer would tear them up in court.

@firebird403 they …
@firebird403 they can only ask other wise they can arrest him for engaging in prohibit activity then they can take his id, there are many ways to bend the law in the favor was a guard for 3 years and the guard usually always have away around something, but most of them don’t know shit. In this case I would have arrested them for engaging in prohibited activity and call the cops and then your in worst trouble, its there property and they are in charge of it just do as they ask and that’s it.

Wow…talk about …
Wow…talk about bullshit. How did they figure were you trespassing? Just because you had the cameras? I bet you that if you had gone back 20 minutes later without the cameras, no one would have said a word about you being there.
