Can I use the T in Pittsburgh to easily reach the David L. Lawrence Convention Centre?

A few friends and I need to get to the Convention Centre for Tekkoshocon ’09 in Downtown Pittsburgh near the Strip District, but really do not want to have to drive down there and worry about parking.

However, it is very easy for us to catch the T at South Hills Village and take that to Pittsburgh.

Is there a station within decent walking distance of the Convention Centre that we could ride to from South Hills? We’ll be in costumes, so wandering around the streets of Pittsburgh is something we want to avoid as much as possible.

Thank you so much – Pittsburgh will continue to confuse me forever.

Closest T station to the convention center is several blocks away. Probably not a viable option for what you want.
