How far is the SMX Convention Center?
June 30th, 2010 | by admin |From ParaƱaque City? I’m taking my first trip to the Philippines Manila and found a hostel that is pretty south from the Convention Center where I am attending a conference. Is it too far to travel to by bus or subway?
What form of transportation should I take? any help would be appreciated. ![]()
Green Mango HOstel. Ever heard of it?
OHhh is the subway different from the Metro? That’s what I am talking about, not subway but Metro. The fast one.
We don’t have a subway, and as for your first trip in the Philippines, I wouldn’t recommend taking a public bus.
Paranaque City is rather large, but on light traffic days and hours you can arrive at SMX in 20 minutes; rush hour less than an hour. May I ask what hotel you are staying in?
I recommend you to take a taxi. The flat rate for taxis are 30 pesos. I gather you’ll rank about 70 to 100 pesos depending on your location.
You can either ask your hotel to arrange the transportation or you can call the following trusted local taxi operators to pick you up.
1. MGE taxi
Phone number: 364-82-60
Phone number: 363-60-96
Phone number: 366-62-14
Phone number: 366-62-87
2. Dollar 927-87-18; 921-23-83
3.Basic Taxi 9001447
4. Avis 831-27-01
Good luck.
EDIT:
There are three trains in the Philippines:
Light Railway Transit (LRT)
Metro Railway Transit (MRT)
Philippine Railway Transit
I’m guessing you are suggesting MRT, but it does not pass SM Mall of Asia or your hotel in Sucat, Paranaque.
I still recommend a taxi.

Green Mango Inn is located at 365 Aguirre Avenue, bf Homes, Sucat, more than 8 kms to SMX. You can ride an Fx taxi from Sucat Rd. with Lawton signboard to Roxas Blvd corner EDSA. There are shuttle jeepneys from EDSA to MOA.
Traffic along Sucat is your main problem. Try Kabayan Inn at Pasay EDSA less than 1 km to SMX. Buses to MOA are in front of the Inn.

First time in metro manila?
Just take a cab. that’s the simplest answer.
Ordinary taxis have a plug down rate of P30. Avis could have higher rates. Paranaque City is just a neighboring city of Pasay where SMX is located. Actually, it’s in the border of Pasay and Paranaque. There are no buses that will take you directly to SMX from Paranaque.
