Can I just wear casual clothes? Also do I have to bring an adult with me since I’m only 14? Should I book the hotel where the convention is at? Could you give me some tips? That all I really wanted to know and I’m going the Saboten Con in Phoenix, AZ with one of my friends. (:

You can wear casual clothes, but usually you wear a cosplay (dressing up as an anime character). And yes, an adult is nessecary in order to get, until you are 18. If you live close to the con, you shouldnt really need a hotel, unless you plan on going for 3 days or something. The only true rule at a con, is to HAVE FUN. Its a great place to be, and you can act like an idiot, and not get wierd looks, because people usually DO act like idiots haha.

Tiene 8 pisos y 142 habitaciones (todas con vista a la bahía de Valparaíso) de tres tipos diferentes (habitaciones clásicas, superiores y suite).

Entre otros servicios el hotel cuenta con dos piscinas (una exterior y una interior), recorrido turístico, servicios médicos, de habitación y conserjería, 329 estacionamientos, gimnasio y spa. Además posee 10 espacios para eventos, cada uno con espacio para 1.200 invitados y la reconocida suite presidencial.

El edificio significó una inversión que bordeó los US$30 millones. Su arquitectura tiene reminiscencias de Art decó del antiguo Miramar, como el edificio circular y conceptos modernistas, como el atrio cónico, el muro cortina y la mezcla de vidrio y aluminio. Parte del mobiliario se trajo de Brasil e Italia y los muebles especiales se hicieron en Chile.

Del antiguo hotel, inaugurado en enero de 1946 y remodelado en 1979, sólo se conserva la piscina con agua de mar y las líneas curvas que lo hacían particular, además del uso de una ubicación estratégica de la ciudad de Viña del Mar. Esta estructura fue desmantelada en 1998, pero tras una fallida licitación con la cadena de Hoteles Hilton, entre otras firmas, fue demolido en 2004 una vez que se lo adjudicó la firma concesionaria Penta, para dar paso a la construcción del nuevo hotel inaugurado en diciembre de 2005.

Todos los años es parte importante del Festival de Viña del Mar, ya sea por la elección de la Reina del Festival y el tradicional “piscinazo” y porque es el lugar de hospedaje de los más connotados artistas.
